"My life has come to an Autumn, where pasts flows through me like leaves, and soon winter will come, then my time will end. A lot has been through, and a lot I still don't understand... I only wish to be with him, for as much as the time I have left, and I want to ask her how to do so, to let hima accept me like he did to her, instead of ending with only thoughts and myself alone, in this autumn..." - Vomn Akaron, 2nd Daughter of Akaron Noble
The aim of this tryout is to enhance the flow and emotion while maintaining the details, especially the BG. This piece is supposed to be able to divided into 2 from the space between 2 characters, which in the end works out in an... unexpecting way (never thought Vomn would take so much space).
Personally I believe shadings and BGs can have more room of improvements, though this is probably the best I can do so far ^^ I think I need to look at more of other people's works and learn from them
The curves used in this painting make the scene look as if it is moving, especially the hair. Usually, this is assumed to be caused by wind, but as I think of autumn, it seems to fit into the weather conditions quite well. Aside from that, the background you used here is fine. If you put too much into it, then you can't really appriciate the main characters. Maybe a "fading out" type of background I've noticed in your past works would be something you can experiment with, especially when you have more space to flaunt.

thx for the comment ^^ yeah I noticed the same thing about the BG too. BTW do u hav problems when u scan images into comp ? Like a lot of colors and details are lost through the scanning process... coz I dunno what I can do about this... ^^

Yeah... well I haven't attempted to scan in anything too colorful I suppose, but it also depends on the program you are using when bringing it in. Since I have an HP scanner, it automatically previews the scan through the import option in photoshop. When previewed, the options to change the color contrasts become available. Most of the time, it doesn't matter if I alter the colors exactly at the point, since photoshop's hue/saturation, levels, curves, and lightness/contrast options usually make the most significant changes. I'm not sure what programs you use when scanning, but it seems that the ability and time to experiment is the best method all around.

I also use HP scanner, and the programme comes with the scanner. It's true that I can us photoshop options to bring things up, but it is this process that many minor details (such as light brush strokes) are always lost...hmm seems lik every scanner works lik that...?...

Ah... so you do have it as well. Hmmm... unless you scan it in at a high pixel ratio it could be hard to really show the details. Unless you do the painting digitally, it's likely that the artwork will not look the same.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
