As TOS (Tactic Operation Suit, see description “TOS Spec.”) are successfully deployed and have effectively monitor most minor factions in the world, the form of government underground and terrorist groups has changed from large scale organizations to dissipated single or small teams to diverse the attention of the agents whose number are highly limited.
This however does not trouble the superpowers much, as their enemies now have much harder time to communicate and coordinate with each other, their effectiveness also turns minor. The primary role of TOS agents now switches from monitor/assassination to search/scout such as to find and locate hidden or scattered enemies and calls standard military forces for elimination.
SCS Strategic Combat Suit
To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the elimination missions, the factions look to develop a well all around, highly versatile and potential field combat unit that can be deployed for all purposes and adapt all environments in battle zones. Although there is still currently a long way to achieve this idealistic goal, early research and development has formed some initial designs that can partially meet the requirements in a limited manner.
Strictly speaking, the SCS is not in the same tech level as TOS, instead it is more of an upgraded form of modern standard military weapon. It is able to perform long term combat in most ground/water surroundings, including operating up to max 100m underwater or other potentially hazardous zones.
Some parts of the suit takes similar design approaches as TOS system but altered or simplified for cost and usage reasons :
Unable to turn as it is fixed on the body to help stand impact and avoid neck weak point, the head is equipped with 2 sets of 220∘visual sensors that can switch to various modes. It has no computer but only communication systems and only serves as focal point for information and control.
The body is technically divided into 2 parts. The 1st parts are the control space for pilot and base bone/muscle structure that are responsible for the suit’s movements and is controlled by real time sense/reaction method. The 2nd parts are the essential hardware such as main computer, power engine, life support or exhaustion systems and other minor functions from self repair system to spot lights, which are mostly stored in its hunch back. The entire body shape is designed in a sphere like form to better withstand impact and can be retracted for easy storage.
Serving almost solely as main weapon system, the arms can be equipped with up to 2 of any type of standard armaments or auxiliary devices within the large armour. Although replacement of weapons now can be done much efficient than before, it is still almost impossible to do so in middle of combat, leaving the suit highly vulnerable once the ammunition stocks run out. Mechanic hands are also implanted to arms for some complex movements or works with happens occasionally.
The standard weapons and devices current known for combat suit are listed and briefly described below :
Link Gauss (22500 rounds of 2.5 Spike shells fires at 100/sec rate)
Researchers of many factions are currently working on more effective designs of link gauss so it can be applied to a boarder range of subjects. The current series of this semi-high tech weapon has become most popular for many factions as it fits the whole system surprisingly well .
The link gauss are chain guns powered with a charge system that can be activated and controlled to enhance the speed/penetration rate of its attacks. If charged with enough energy the round will dissipate and set off a small and weak anti matter field when it hits the target, effectively eat away most substances or energy shield.
Grenade Link (12x20 rounds of Grenades fires at 4/sec rate)
An enhanced version of traditional grenade launcher. With its size and compliment with the combat suit, the launcher can fire its stock rapidly to cause heavy are damage if used appropriately. The weapon can load and switch various types of grenades and use in conjunction thus making it highly versatile in the field.
Phase Mortar (100 rounds of 25mm Spikes fires at 0.15/sec rate)
Used mainly from a long range, the phase mortar is fragile yet lethal weapon that works similar to link gauss but much powerful as its speed and penetration improves dramatically that, once it hits the target a base radius 50mm cone will be drilled to a certain depth which generally completely dis-functions its subject regardless of the protection it has.
Smart bomb/Scout Launcher (12x Standard Scout/Smart bomb fires at 0.15/sec rate)
Turning increasingly popular in many tactical missions, the launcher can deploy bombs or scout drones that are implanted with AI and several guide/track devices. The smart bombs can switch between modes such as lock-on, heat seeking, delay blast, trap mines or such. Newer version of bombs can travel with anti gravity field and make themselves un-intercept able with their speed.
Scout drones are widely used as field intelligence in heavily guarded area or where communication is very hampered. It helps the user to gather information thus better reacts to circumstances and can usually work for 4-6 days before it requires recharging.
Only equipped by TOS agents for its cost in earlier age, researchers start to realize its potential in battlefield for combat suits recently. The theory of this device simply bases with a magnetic field generator that can stop most energy or physical attacks by creating a strong force barrier with a high cost of energy. In occasions the barrier can be used as a melee weapon to cause heavy physical impact to enemies with the combat suit’s movement and weight that can be fatal if not properly protected.
Mostly only in full scale warfare it is then possible to see combat suits hold such destructive weapon. The missile stand allows the suits to serve as mobile and versatile warhead launch unit that can easily hide from most devastating attacks. The sensory system of standard combat suit is unable to pin point the destination, thus guidance from Central , GPS or scout drones is essential.
Designed solely for electronic warfare, it can easily handle most tasks that involves information gathering or hampering. Also powered with a transmitter that works as both detector or anti-detector, making it valuable for field communication and intelligence. Although ill suited for combat, the electronic jammer is capable of launching EMP blasts that can cripple or even shut down enemy electronic devices for a considerable period of time.
Stasis Field Generator
A new technology developed by a few advanced factions, it only able to operate for a very short time unless used in a highly reserved manner. When stasis field is activated, nothing within its effect area can travel faster than 5km/hr thus rendering most ordinary weapons completely unusable. The nature of this device can be applied to many helpful uses such as protect or trap important targets and such.
Control mobility and movements in general. The thigh armour holds boosters within that allows the suit to make sudden charges or jumps in directions. The toes varies in different types but generally are more versatile than conventional wheels or foot soldiers. Currently a few factions are experimenting complex anti gravity drives to further boost movement speed and agility in combat.
Unlike TOS agents, the pilots need much less prerequisite and training. Most of them can be selected from grunts or armoured unit pilots and, with a short but intense training they will be able to operate the suit, although it still takes quite a long period to fully master the nature and control of it.
The uniform for pilots is not designed for field combat but to protect the user of the harm and discomfort from operating the combat suit while monitoring their health status at the same time. Their helmet covers from head down to neck and consists of a virtual visor that communicates with the main computer and Central, with an air mask underneath.
Most combat suits now have voice control as aid for some complicated commands, also the personnel in Central can provide backup controls if necessary. There are also manual switches for basic functions.
Generally there are 2 sets of handles for each hand, one for weapon system and other for the mechanic hands. Underneath are also 2 sets of foot paddles for charge/boost system and mechanic legs.
Inside the suit the pilot is held by safety fixes to minimize discomfort that is also powered with a life monitor system that works with their uniform.
AGT Anti Gravity Transport
Appointed and designed as standard tactic transport for SCS, the AGT is also capable to carry various types of military units within its hulls. The primary concept is to quickly take and drop essential units to assigned hot spots with the undetectable technology and un-intercept able speed of the anti gravity field generator implanted in each of its 4 wings.
To launch AGT it must be heavily charged before placed on a special platform. The wings will release anti gravity force to hover and slowly hold up the body to midair, which then the wings will start to maximize the field force by retracting to form a sphere like shape until sufficient and ready to enter high speed travel.
The transport is most vulnerable during cargo load/drop as it must disable its anti gravity field to do so.
